Sydney Whalen, a current sophomore from Chicago, is an undergraduate research ambassador majoring in psychology and biology on the pre-med track. She is a member of the honors college, Emerging Scholars Program, and a number of service-related organizations on campus. Her current research interests focus on care and treatment for older individuals, racial/ethnic disparities in healthcare, and trends in the patient-physician relationship. She is currently involved in the Allen lab studying the effects of art therapy on people with dementia. Conducting research has been a very meaningful experience throughout her time here at UA.
