Samantha Anderson is a junior, majoring in human development and family studies with a concentration in child life, and a minor in psychology. When she graduates, she plans to become a Child Life Specialist in the hospital setting to help children and their families cope with the stresses of hospitalization. She hopes to eventually earn her doctorate degree in Clinical Child Psychology, in hopes of becoming a Child Psychologist in a clinical setting. The Office of Undergraduate Research has granted her many amazing opportunities. Anderson currently participates in Undergraduate Research with Dr. Casper in the CAPRI lab, as well as be a part of the Emerging Scholars Program. Her research in the CAPRI lab has particularly focused on the ways adolescents interact with previous friends on social media, and the way hospitalization can effect adolescent's friendships. She hopes to make an impact on the field of child life by contributing to the limited research there is in the field.
