Blaire Taggart is a senior from Jackson, TN majoring in Biology on the Pre-Med track. She is a member of the Honors College and is also a University Steward. Taggart is a part of the Emerging Scholars Program where she recently got involved in research pertaining to the social and psychological consequences of being a bystander in instances involving drugs and alcohol. Aside from her love of other areas of science, she fulfills her passion for her major by working as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for the Biology department at Alabama. During the summer, she works at a local hospital in the NICU. There, she got involved in research on different ventilation types for premature babies. She had the opportunity to be a part of a lab where these various types of ventilation were used on fetal pigs. Her interests in these things stem from her passion to help others and general curiosity which is why she hopes to attend medical school after graduating, so she can become a physician and satisfy that curiosity while helping others every day.
