Olivia Gevedon is a rising junior majoring in anthropology with a minor in biology. During her freshman year, she joined Dr. Chtarbanova’s research lab in the department of biological sciences. Their focus is neurodegeneration and immunology using Drosophila as a model organism. Gevedon frequently makes genetic crosses, tests progeny brain activity with climbing assays, and performs RNAi. She loves to help other students get involved with research they’re passionate about and prepare them for conferences such as URCA. After graduation, she plans to attend medical school and continue researching within the field.
